About 3 weeks ago, my family (Alexis, Desiree, Scarlett, Paul, Cami, Dad and Mom) and I went to the beach in California! It was very fun and I got to smell the sea air again. I haven't been to the beach for a while, so it was extra special! :D We had lunch there, admired the baby, ate chips, played, built sand castles (or at least we tried), got run over by the waves...that reminds me of what happened to Scarlett.
We were playing in the waves, just Scarlett and I, because we didn't want to take the risk for Desi, and a huge wave came and we were all screaming and trying to run up the slippery, sandy hill and giggling and then I was a little bit ahead of Scarlett. I don't know why but she was slow or something, and she got pulled back from the wave. I was FINALLY away from where the wave could strike me and I said to Scarlett, "Oh my gosh! Whew! At least w.." And then I noticed that she wasn't there. I started panicking and I thought, 'Did she get swept away?! Ohmigosh!! Where did she go??' And then I yelled, "CAMI!!! MOM!!! DAD!!! PAUL!!!" I was still panicking and I didn't know where she went. Cami and Dad and Mom and Paul came rushing down the hill. Dad was carrying Alexis. Desi was on the top of the hill calmly 'building' sand castles. Paul said, "What??? What???" And I said, still panicking, "Scarlett got swept up in the waves!!" We all looked out and saw her. She wasn't that far out but she looked REALLY worried. Dad said,"PLUG YOUR NOSE!!" Scarlett shrugged her shoulders like, 'huh?' Another wave was looming over her and about to come right over when Dad plugged his nose himself. JUST IN TIME Scarlett plugged her nose and the wave washed her in.
She was crying but okay. My heart was beating SO fast that I could hear it even with all the noise! I am so grateful; my Heavenly Father was watching over her, I know it.
Besides that, the beach was fun! If you go to the beach BE CAREFUL!

I'm glad you had fun at the beach....I love the beach! I'm also glad you learned the importance of being careful. (My mom--that makes her your 'sort of grandma'--has a book called Sea Song which is about watching out for the waves. It's a fun one.) But most of all I'm glad you recognized that Heavenly Father was watching out for your family. It's always important to acknowledge His hand in all things.
